2017 Beaune 1er cru Les Teurons :Very old vines across two parcels, ranging from 50 to 80 years old. This has a deeply earthy and spicy edge that delivers a wealth of quite plush tannins on the palate. Long and flavorful finish. Drink or hold. 91 points


2017 Beaune 1er cru Champs Pimont : There's a very fresh array of bright cherries here. Quite pure. Some violets, too. The palate has a succulent, almost silky feel with fine tannins suspended in ripe red-fruit flavors. Drink or hold. 91 points


2017 Volnay 1er cru En Carelle :Some very attractive violets and blueberries - there's attractive clarity to the nose. The palate has a very pure array of plush, supple tannins and a vibrant, tannin edge. 91 points


2017 Volnay 1er cru Clos de la Chapelle monopole :Some attractive depth on offer here. Spicy oak threads through earthy nuances and a wealth of sous bois and rich red cherries. Complex already. The palate has a deeply set array of rich and ripe dark fruit, as well as a swathe of plush and velvety tannins. Focused and flavorful. Very rich and supple. Drink or hold. 93 points


2017 Volnay 1er cru Taillepieds : There's quite a dark, stony edge to the nose here with darker cherries. This is very plush and succulent feel with a sinewy feel to the tannins that carry plenty of rich and ripe red to darker-cherry flavor. Fresh, cherry-pip tang at the finish. Needs a little time. 2017 Pommard 1er cru Les Chanlins vieilles vignes: The 25 per cent whole clusters really lift the nose here, adding wonderfully fragrant violet flowers and ripe blue and red fruit, all swathed in spice. The palate has a very smooth, succulent feel with a strong, deep and assertive bed of tannins that is smoothly rendered and carries plenty of fruit flavor. Drink or hold. 93 points


2017 Pommard 1er cru Grands Epenots :The oak is up on the nose for now, but framed in plenty of ripe, darker cherries. Give this some air to shake the gently reductive edge loose. The palate has a super tight, lower-pH texture that really pops, but stays tightly contained. Try from 2022. 93 points


2017 Corton Bressandes Grand Cru :Pronounced, stony aromas here and a regal air of more savory persuasion with spice, dried-flower and cedary notes, as well as forest wood and berries. The palate has a plush and smooth build with plenty of power that's contained for now. Long, smooth and fine tannins. Try from 2022. 93 points

2017 Beaune 1er cru Reversées :Quite attractive, rich ripe citrus and peaches with some flinty nuances and lees-derived notes of lemon and lime pith. The palate delivers powerful and fleshy fruit in a bold, fresh and weighty style. Peaches, melon and grilled nuts at the finish. Drink or hold. 92 points


2017 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er cru Sous Frétille :This carries attractive, rich lemon and grapefruit aromas with a neat, reductive edge. The palate has a very zesty core of lemon and grapefruit and some praline, too. Good depth and richness and plenty of acidity. Finishes with real tension. Try from 2022. 93 points


2017 Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru : Beautifully fragrant young peaches and nectarines with some crushed stones and chalky notes, as well as a yellow-citrus edge. The palate has commanding density and concentrated peach and nectarine flavors with a long, assertive and nobly structured feel. Exceptional wine. This is a 0.3-ha parcel in a cooler section of the vineyard. Try from 2022. 94 points
